Ann Marie Dewhurst, PhD,
Ann Marie has been registered in Alberta since 1994 and has two areas of practice: Clinical/Counselling and Forensic Psychology. As a counsellor, she provides therapeutic and assessment services to adults interested in making changes in their life, cope with depression, anxiety, and stress, or to heal from trauma. As a forensic psychologist, Ann Marie specializes in working with people who have been victims or perpetrators (or both) of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse. Ann Marie also provides clinical supervision and training to provisionally registering psychologists and community-based non-profit organizations. She is a published author and has presented her research at local, national and international conferences.
During the current COVID-19 Pandemic, Ann Marie is working primarily through Teletherapy using secure online video. The College of Alberta Psychologists has encouraged psychologists to support the work of Alberta Health Services by working at a distance. We are part of a community response to keep each other safe and healthy. Ann Marie will work with some clients in person, but this decision is made on a case-by-case basis.
